Kai Ken are one of six native Japanese hunting dogs (more commonly known as Nihon Ken). They are medium sized, ranging from 25 - 45lb, and possess brilliant brindle markings. In Japan they were mainly used as hunting dogs (boar & deer) though some currently have jobs of working in search and rescue! They are driven and motivated dogs that thrive with teamwork.

We value the health and temperament of our dogs and the puppies we produce more than anything. Our goal is to produce versatile companion dogs that are engaging and stable in temperament.

Our Kai Ken have their hips, elbows, and patellas OFA certified. We also DNA test our Kai Ken for genetic health and run complete thyroid panels to ensure we are breeding healthy dogs and producing healthy puppies.

We believe that dogs are family. All of our dogs and puppies are raised & live inside our home, trained and exercised regularly, and fed high quality foods. Our Kai Ken puppies are socialized extensively to ensure they are set up for success and ready to begin their amazing adventures with their new families.

We love and support the BIPOC & LGBTQIA communities.

Our Kai Ken prove their sociability, work ethic, adaptability and versatility constantly by participating in sports, shows, and events. It is important to work both the mind and body of your dog to continue to grow your relationship with your Kai Ken!

Kai Ken bond to their owners through shared experiences. They have a desire to work *with* you, not for you. The breed is a dog that is bred to work in Japan so by giving them a 'job' or task, you are not only bonding with your dog but you are giving them a purpose that leads to a more fulfilling and happy life.
