Hello friends!
I will add more details later, but wanted to post a quick update.
Kurisu's first litter was a singleton born on March 18th, 2023. She quickly recovered and we kept her only puppy.
Since Kurisu has a long period between heat cycles, I plan to breed her again on her next heat which I anticipate to be in November 2023 (cycles every 10 months). Long cycles present unique circumstances, as if I decide to skip a heat cycle my next litter would be 20 months away where a dog who cycles every 6 months will only be 12 months away-- basically she cycles almost twice as long as other dogs.
I am undecided how I will proceed.
My ideal is to import semen from Finland and try artificial insemination with her. The plan is to import the semen ahead of time so that it is here and ready. The issue being-- I wasn't planning on keeping a puppy from her first litter, and keeping another puppy so soon may not be feasible for me. But we will see how things progress.
The back-up plan would be to repeat Kurisu x Bakugo, this heavily depends on watching Chise develop over the next 4+ months. But so far I am very happy with what I see. She is such a brilliant and balanced puppy.
